SCULTPURAL COLLAGE

With this work Mattia is still investigating transformation and preservation, which had been the core of his work for the past 15 years, but this time he's using different medias and shapes to convey the message.

The new work consists of a tridimensional collage printed on paper, wood, aluminum or marble.

Mattia spent the last ten years accumulating an archive of found images pulled from media, art history, and his own snapshots. This body of source material allows the artist to construct works of collage quickly and intuitively, approximating the library of Biagi’s unconscious mind.
